Virginia Cruz, D.S.W., Executive Producer Dr. Cruz is the director of the Social Work Program at Metropolitan State
College of Denver and has spent more than 20 years of research, study and
education, and as a practicing psychotherapist and social work caseworker in the
field of developmental disabilities. Dr. Cruz came to Metropolitan State College
in 1992 from UCLA where she served as Assistant Clinical Professor and Associate
Director of the UAP Program at UCLA's Center for the Heath Sciences
Neuropsychiatric Institute. Under her direction , the Social Work Program at
Metropolitan State College was awarded full accreditation.
Dr. Cruz received her D.S.W from the University of California in 1983, an
M.S.W.-Casework from the University of California in 1979 and B.A.-Psychology

Sharon M. Thomson, Producer/Director Sharon has been writing, producing and directing films and videos for more
than 15 years. She began her career as a newspaper journalist and then moved
into advertising and marketing, producing television spots, promotional and
educational films and advertising and public relations campaigns for several
Fortune 500 companies. In 1993 she opened the film and video production company
Sixth Street Productions in Boulder, Colorado. She is also involved in the
development of feature film projects under a sister company Imaken Films. Sharon
received a B.A. in journalism from the University of Wyoming and is the
recipient of numerous regional and national awards for her video and print work.
